For Out-of-Towners....

In case you are wondering where you might want to stay... here in Redmond, we have a lovely Marriot that's in the Redmond Town Center. I'm trying to persuade my parents to stay there the night before the wedding, but it's very centrally located (like 5 minutes from our house) and you can walk to shops/coffee/or even movies if you're bored! Also, some fun things to do around here, if you rent a car: There is the famous Pike Place Market (for lovely treats such as tiny donuts and flying fish),

The Space Needle: (360* views of Seattle.. could you ask for more?)

You could also check out Marymoor Park, the Woodland Park Zoo, Mighty-O Donuts (all vegan and organic!), or Fremont, home of the Fremont Troll (and delicious gelato!)

Some places we like to eat are:

The Venus Cafe/ Mars Bar- in an actual bar, the food is phenemonal; especially for Sunday brunch!

Tropea Ristorante Italiano; somehow, the waiters know just the right wine to recommend for any meal. While tiny (and sometimes forcing you to overhear your neighbor's inappropriate conversations) this is one of our favorite date spots!

Yummy Pho: just down the street, and perfect on a cold day.

Cupcake Tasting!!

After much discussion, we are having a cupcake tasting next weekend at New York Cupcakes! Getting very excited! They have over 40 kinds of cupcakes, so it was kind of hard to narrow it down. (but, unlike other bakeries that shall remain nameless, they will a.) let us choose 10 kinds to try and b.) have tastings several days of the week, not just one or two random days in a month, during the time that I am working... ergo, they are even more awesome!) The store itself has ridiculously cute decor and SELLS FROSTING BY THE DOUBLE SHOT! (see below)

Can you believe it?

We will not probably be having robot cupcakes though; but they are awfully cute!

OMG you guys... John and I have been working on registries online for the last week or so. After much thought, we decided to register at 3 places, all of which can be shopped from online. The largest (and most varied) registry is at You can visit: to see our exact list, or search for either of our names. We are also registered at Sur La Table ( for kitchen items; John REALLY wants to get the feather duster, especially since he has disclosed a passion for dusting, so I really hope someone gets that for us! Last, but not least, I went to Macy's to pick out fancy china- I found this pattern that I loved a few years ago (which actually gave me hope that I would one day find someone to marry) and now? It's discontinued. I found a really lovely (and more colorful) replacement though, so if you're into buying expensive dishes, by all means look us up on or in the store. :)

Avoiding Wussy Arms

Wouldn't you know it? The day after I was lamenting how much candy and donut holes I ate this weekend... my dress comes in a month early!! Luckily, I have this book (and another 7 months) to help me get into "strapless" shape:

It's actually really great. It is mostly demonstrations of how to do various exercises; at home, with some dumbells, a balance ball, and a step (previously used for 90's aerobics). There is a 6-month program (which I'm doing, ever so slowly, since I had 8 months to go when I started.) The program is only 3 days a week, about 20-25 minutes a shot. Totally do-able! (and actually fun, unlike shelling out $30/month to go to the gym.)

A criminal in the making

(Yeah, we're not going with this one. It is hilarious though!)

My neighbor just had a tree cut down and chopped up this morning. Is it bad that I'm thinking of stealing a piece of it to make this? I love the idea of the outdoorsy-ness, plus the fact that we named our house "The Treehouse"... and it fits with the Midsummer Night's Dream theme. Of course we are getting cupcakes instead of the traditional cake, (most likely from here... OMG the love!) and I'm assuming that they have their own stands... so would it be weird to have stands for something else? (like salad)? A salad stand? Hmmm...

Welcome to our wedding blog! We are starting this to keep our families and friends in the know, in terms of what is going on with our wedding, show you dorky pictures of us, and also for Dana to organize some things to keep her sanity. Aren't you glad you're here?

We are!
